Non-Mental Health Professional Development

Non-Mental Health Professional Development is designed for educators, youth program staff, child advocates, and allied professionals who regularly witness children's climate-related worries but are not practicing psychotherapy. We introduce key concepts from Climate Awareness Play Therapy in accessible language: how climate distress shows up by developmental stage, what eco-anxiety and grief may look like in classrooms and programs, and how adults can respond supportively without providing clinical treatment. Participants learn regulation-supportive strategies, developmentally appropriate language, and referral indicators. This training respects professional boundaries while giving non-clinicians a clear, evidence-informed framework for recognizing climate-related distress and partnering effectively with mental health providers.
